view that as well.
There are 3 races remaining on the 2008 HRKC schedule; Sep 14, Sep 21,
Oct 5. As
a reminder, for these last 3 races, we will go back to the original race
day schedule and will be having a round of practice for all classes prior
to the heat races. Gates still open at 7:30am. See
you there!
HRKC Pro Wing Champ Rule Changes
The HRKC Board has meet and have joined
into conversations with Langley Speedway concerning our Rhonnda Claiborne
Pro Wing Champ Karts and their continue venue at the Speedway.
Both organizations have decided on the
following changes to be made immediately: These changes will have to be
done prior to the July 27, 2008 race.
1) The wing angle to be changed from 15
to 20 degrees.
2) Install a triangle window net also known
as a sprint car window net in the left side attached to the rear left
roll cage bar and left front roll cage down bar.
3) Install an aluminum plate, 6" X
6" X 3/16"(thick) adjacent to the clutch on the right hand
side of seat, this is to be known as the "Clutch Protection Plate".
4) Every driver will be required to wear
elbow pads.
5) All rookies that have not achieved the
4 race rookie qualification, will be required to start in the rear for
the remainder of the 2008 Season.
There
are also some additional changes that are being discussed for the 2009
Season and those changes will made prior to the 2009 Competition rules
and technical manual being published, allowing everyone enough time to
adapt their karts.
Summer Race Day Changes
A vote was conducted at the race on June 22,
to see whether the club members wanted to forgo the practice sessions
during the hot summer months, in an attempt to shorten the race day. The
majority of the members were in favor of this, and therefore, for the
remaining races scheduled in June, July, August, there will not be any
practice sessions on race day. The gates will open at 7:30am, and registration
will close at 9:30am. The driver's meeting and heat and feature races
to follow. Again, this is just for races scheduled through the end of
August. If any members would like some practice time, they can contact
Langley Speedway and can reserve a 4 hour block (either morning or afternoon)
for $50.00. The club is also entertaining the idea of maybe a group practice
session on a Tuesday evening, if there is enough interest. Please contact
your kart rep if you are interested in this Tuesday practice.
The HRKC Membership Meeting was held on Saturday,
February 16, and was well received. Thanks to all the members that turned
out for the meeting. If you could not make it, both the rulebook
and the Membership Application are available
here on the web site. You can print them out and either mail the membership
application (with payment) to the address listed above, or bring it to
the Practice on April 6th at Langley Speedway.
Also, the presentation
from the Membership Meeting is located here for your convenience.
Class sponsorships for this season are still
available. If you have a business or know some one who does, ask them
to support HRKC.
